CTMH Paper Blog Hop - La Vie En Rose

Welcome to the Blog Hop for the Heartfelt Sentiments Team. This month we are showcasing the
La Vie En Rose Paper Pack. This paper pack is found on page 49 of the Annual Inspirations Idea Book. If you are coming here from Tonya's Blog you are headed in the right direction.

I decided on a one-page layout so I found a pattern that I liked on page 38 of Make It From Your Heart Volume 2.

I love all the black and white patterned paper that is included in this paper pack. Two of our new cardstock colors, Pomegranate and Poppy are included if you purchase the paper pack on page 49. If you purchase the WOTG from page 51 you will also get 2 more new cardstock colors, Fern and Peacock.

All of those new colors are beautiful but I chose not to go that direction. Since our McAlester High School colors are black and gold, I decided to pair the black and white patterns with Saffron. Go Buffs!!! (McAlester High School Buffaloes). I have plenty of photos of my daughter playing her flute in the MHS Marching Band. This page will be perfect for that quite lovely, black and gold band uniform.

I added black shimmer trim and several stamped images and there it is... in Black and White plus Saffron. I used three CTMH Stamp Sets, D1658 #makesmehappy,  D1674 Zoe Scrapbooking WOTG, and B1482 My Story.

If you are interested in purchasing any product that was used to make this layout you could visit my website, lisalawson.ctmh.com. Or you could call me and I would be glad to help you.

Close to my Heart Paper Blog Hop - Sangria

Welcome to the Blog Hop for the Heartfelt Sentiments Team.  This month we are showcasing the Sangria Paper Pack. This paper pack is found on page 35 of the Annual Inspirations Idea Book.

If you are coming from Marianne's Blog, then you are on the right track.

The color palette includes some favorite neutrals paired with three of our seven new colors introduced this year. You will definitely want to add eggplant, pomegranate and poppy to your collection soon. These colors will be beautiful with your fall photos and scrapbook pages.

Musically speaking, the Sangria Paper Packet started singing Deck the Halls to me so I wanted to pair it with a Christmas stamp set. I decided to use the October Stamp of the Month, Twinkle S1510. I used card pattern 20 from Make It From Your Heart volume 2.

CTMH Paper Blog Hop - Nevermore

Welcome to the Blog Hop for the Heartfelt Sentiments Team. We will be featuring a new paper pack from Close to my Heart. You can check back here each month to see projects and artwork our talented team members have been making. If you are coming here from Debi's Blog you are headed in the right direction.

This month we are showcasing the Nevermore Paper Pack. This paper pack is found on page 7 of the Holiday Expressions catalog. You will love this paper if you have been anxiously waiting for the Ber Months and sweater weather or if you just love Halloween.

This month I decided to make a sunburst card to show off all of the patterned paper in this pack. First I cut rectangles that were 5.5 inches in length and 1.25 inches wide. I decided I wanted them wider so I cut some 1.5 inches wide. I used both widths on my card to mix it up a bit. To make the triangle shape, I made a diagonal cut - Top right corner to lower left corner. On this card I put the first two triangular shapes in the center of the card. I kept adding triangles to each side until the card front is covered with paper. Then I score then cut all of the over hang with a X-acto knife.

I used the adorable new stamp set, Little Monsters C1630 and colored my images with our ShinHan Twin Touch Markers.

Yes, fussy cutting was involved and I used my favorite pair of scissors, CTMH Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors. If you don't already have these scissors, you should check them out. It will change your life!!! My cutting tip is start cutting in the place that will be supper skinny or tiny while you paper is still large enough to hold. That will keeping it from bending or tearing when the going gets tough. I like to sponge the edges of the object I cut out to give it a more finished look.

I added some Silver Sequins and used a ZipStrip with some Black Shimmer Trim to cover the lower edge of my card.

Words of Comfort

I made these cards using the sentiments from a stamp set called Words of Comfort C1524 and a retired paper packet called Clementine. The small flowers and vines are from Heartfelt Treasures C1456. Don't forget it's fun to stamp the envelope, too.
