CTMH Paper Blog Hop - Nevermore
Welcome to the Blog Hop for the Heartfelt Sentiments Team. We will be featuring a new paper pack from Close to my Heart. You can check back here each month to see projects and artwork our talented team members have been making. If you are coming here from Debi's Blog you are headed in the right direction.
This month we are showcasing the Nevermore Paper Pack. This paper pack is found on page 7 of the Holiday Expressions catalog. You will love this paper if you have been anxiously waiting for the Ber Months and sweater weather or if you just love Halloween.
This month I decided to make a sunburst card to show off all of the patterned paper in this pack. First I cut rectangles that were 5.5 inches in length and 1.25 inches wide. I decided I wanted them wider so I cut some 1.5 inches wide. I used both widths on my card to mix it up a bit. To make the triangle shape, I made a diagonal cut - Top right corner to lower left corner. On this card I put the first two triangular shapes in the center of the card. I kept adding triangles to each side until the card front is covered with paper. Then I score then cut all of the over hang with a X-acto knife.
I used the adorable new stamp set, Little Monsters C1630 and colored my images with our ShinHan Twin Touch Markers.
Yes, fussy cutting was involved and I used my favorite pair of scissors, CTMH Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors. If you don't already have these scissors, you should check them out. It will change your life!!! My cutting tip is start cutting in the place that will be supper skinny or tiny while you paper is still large enough to hold. That will keeping it from bending or tearing when the going gets tough. I like to sponge the edges of the object I cut out to give it a more finished look.
I added some Silver Sequins and used a ZipStrip with some Black Shimmer Trim to cover the lower edge of my card.
If your are interested in purchasing any product that was used to make this card, you can click on any of the links and it will take you to my website. Or you could call me and I would be glad to help you.
Thanks for stopping by and now you can hop on over to Sheila's Blog to see what she has created for this month.
